In view of the flood devastations, Pakistan Defence Day would be observed with simplicity but with national spirit on Monday. All functions and ceremonies with respect to this day have been canceled.

To this effect, Government has directed to the armed forces to postpone all ceremonies in connection with the Defense Day and all expenditures that were to be incurred for holding the ceremonies should be diverted to the flood affectees relief fund.

On the occasion of Defence Day tribute would be awarded to the martyrs of 1965 war by putting flowers on their graves and prayers for them.

All the cantonments have also postponed the festivities, which they organized every year on this occasion including the defense exhibition.
